I have loved this fairy-tale all my life, and anyone wanting to read it, absolutely must get this version of it, with all the gorgeously evocative colour illustrations! Without them, it's just not the same. This tale takes the reader to meet all the mythical characters who live somewhere in the skies above us: the Sandman, the Queen of the Night, who is really the Moon Goddess, the Sun with her daughters Sunrise and Sunset and her two sons the Morning Star and the Evening Star, all the weather elements personified, Father Christmas and the Christchild with all the children's toys growing all around them, the Easter Nest with the hens laying the eggs and the hares distributing them on Earth, the Big Bear and the Little Bear, representing the Big and Little Dipper constellations, the Star children who have to clean their child's star if it has been naughty,...There is an English version of this tale in recent years, too, "Peter and Anneli's Journey to the Moon" and I am truly surprised that it is still hardly known in the English-speaking world!
